About the programme

Creative and cultural industries are still a new phenomenon in Lithuania, although in the modern world economy, the development of culture and formation of cultural backgrounds creates increasingly higher added value. In Europe, development of creative society is one of the strategic priorities: In the Europe’s growth strategy “Europe 2020” culture is presented as a fundamental value.

The programme of Creative and Cultural Industries provides interdisciplinary competences particularly necessary for the modern humans: digital technology, business solutions, publishing, crafts, cinema, computer games, computer graphics, music and production, public relations and even financial management. Society-oriented balanced personal outlook focused on creative needs is fostered by promoting to test original ideas in business, and customized projects. It develops the ability to creatively combine the practical and theoretical knowledge to efficiently solve challenges of creative and cultural industries, and businesses. Exclusive advantage of the programme is that part of the programme is designed to promote learning entrepreneurial skills, i.e. the creation and successful development of new creative organisations focused on the public welfare, to be able to compete in the European and global level, to build knowledge which offers not only the employment in existing organizations, but to develop new and innovative jobs, by establishing new creative businesses in the sector of cultural industries.
